Title:An introduction to the stable homotopy category
Abstract:We start with stable phenomena in classal homotopy theory, which leads to the definition of spectra and morphisms of spectra. We discuss several examples of spectra and how they represent (generalized) cohomology theories. Finally we define a model structure on the category of spectra, and show that the associated homotopy category, i.e., the stable homotopy category, is a triangulated category.
