主讲人简介/Biography:

Guosong Chen is a professor at Department of Macromolecular Science, Fudan University in Shanghai. After her postdoctoral studies in carbohydrate chemistry, she moved to Fudan University, where she joined the department as a lecturer, then she was promoted to associate professor in 2011, professor in 2014. She has been working on the interface of macromolecular science and glycoscience for more than ten years and developed new strategies for carbohydrate-based macromolecular self-assembly and precise protein assembly. She received Outstanding Youth Foundation from NSFC and was elected as Fellow of Royal Chemical Society (FRSC) and serves as Associate Editor of ACS Macro Letters and international board members for several journals.

讲座摘要/Abstract:

In the study of self-assembly of biomacromolecules into regular structures driven by noncovalent interactions, how to control their noncovalent interactions in order to form well-defined assembled structures becomes the most important mission. We have been working on saccharide-based macromolecular self-assembly and developed new strategies in order to understand the contribution from the non-covalent interactions of saccharides. Meanwhile, We proposed a new strategy to assemble proteins together in a precise way, in which a designer small molecular ligand, i.e. inducing ligand has been employed. By using this strategy, we prepared various precise protein assemblies, including crystalline frameworks, microtubules, and 2D patterns etc.
